Unfortunately WDP will not be making winter trips to Bimini in 2008. This winter we are busy with a lot of office work, data analysis, writing and preparing for a busy 2008 summer field season. Check out the summer page on this site to see the schedule for summer 2008.

Here is a little information about our trips to Bimini!

This is another study site with both spotted and bottlenose dolphins.  Like their counterparts in our main study site on Little Bahama Bank (LBB), these dolphins are very friendly and are habituated to swimming with humans. We haven't been with this group as long as our LBB dolphins, so there is much yet to learn about them and their society.  Whether or not you have been on a trip with us before, it will be a fun experience learning about these amazing creatures and the world they live in.

As a participant you will be asked to help with research tasks, such as routine data collection and dolphin watches. In addition, you will be able to snorkel the Bimini Roads (thought to be roads of the lost city of Atlantis) and the partially sunken Sapona, and explore the island.
