Chapter Minutes
Date: May 15, 2007 – 6:30 PM
Called to Order
by: President Gladwyn Doughman
Chapter Meeting:
1.
Discussed pulling garlic mustard at Maribel Caves. Group to meet at 1 PM May 19th,
bring garbage bags and wear gloves. Woodland Dunes also advertised in paper about the pull so may have help from that
group.
2.
Our web site is out of date. Jim will up date if someone gives him information to
replace.
3.
Gladwyn reported that Doris Mayer said that our group could “rescue” Anemones
in the ditch at Hwy 42 and Nuclear Rd. A new culvert is going to be put in. Anyone interested will go and there
after the garlic mustard pull on Saturday. Gladwyn also looking into other possible rescues due to the waste water lift
station on Crystal Springs Rd. Kay reported that Town of Mishicot is not expecting to do any projects that would affect
wildflowers.
4.
Discussed that the DNR is requesting cutting down excess Box Elder trees even though they
are native, but they are invasive.
5.
Our group will have a table at the June 16th Farmers Market. Need to be
setup by 6:45 AM. Jim will sell our group a flower arrangement that we can give as a door prize. Jeannie will
get membership cards/brochures. Kay will donate a bird feeder to give for a drawing of all new members that sign up
before August meeting. Jim will make some signs. Kay will bring an easel and tack board. Jim will bring wildflower
pictures. Jim & Kay will setup and work until 9 AM. Jeannie and Gladwin will work 9-11AM. Sue &
Bonnie will work 11 AM until closing.
6.
Gladwyn discussed creating a Membership packet that would include information about Wild
Ones, our meeting schedule, members that live close. Ideas to get new members: Do a free plant ID and create a list
of plants that members have that could be shared with new members.
7.
June 19th meeting will be a Plant ID walk at Woodland Dunes. Bring mosquito
repellant, plant ID books and a friend.
8.
Discussed that our group may have a booth at the Owl Fest in fall.
Future planned meetings:

September:
