Welcome Family & Friends, to Whitney's Journal on her battle with Cancer.
The main reason behind Whitney's Web Page is to keep you all informed , so you won't feel as though you are a "bother" to us by calling and asking about Whitney. You are still more than welcome to call, please understand that.
Whitney was diagnosed with Ewings Sarcoma Wednesday May 20, 2004.   She was given 8 months of intensive chemotherapy, and 31 Radiation  treatments.  In February of 2005 she completed her treatment and remained cancer free until August 2006.  On August 2nd we received results from a spinal tap that her cancer has relapsed and Ewings cell were found in her spinal fluid.
She is now receiveing chemotherapy to fight off this teribble disease again.  She goes in for treatment twice a week to receive chemo in an ommaya reservoir that has been placed on the top of her head.  The chemo goes directly into her spinal fluid.  She also goes in every 21 days to receive Cyclophosphamide and Vincristine through her port which was placed in her chest.
