Jikishinkan Aikido dojo is at 211 Smith Street in downtown Brooklyn. It is also the headquarters of the Brooklyn Buddhist Association and the International Zen Dojo of Brooklyn, Sogenkai. Shaku Joseph Jarman is an internationally respect jazz composer and priest as well as a 5th degree black belt in Aikido.
