The name of The Prime Palate might lead one to believe that it is an upscale restaurant. In reality, it is a small town restaurant with a buffet featuring good Southern cooking. Seat yourself in one of the two rooms. The serving line for the buffet is out of view behind the back wall in the room on the right. Southern fried chicken and peach cobbler are featured, along with an assortment of other meats, vegetables, and casseroles. A waitress will bring your drinks. There is a salad bar which may include fruit.
If you do not want to eat from the buffet, there are a few menu items that can be ordered a la carte.
One caveat: during my last visit (05/22/2014), the prices had been raised and the buffet was somewhat pricey for a small country town. If you are on a tight budget, check the prices first. There was a lunch savers special.
Directions I-75, exit 187: go west for about 0.7 mile and turn right onto Main Street. It is on left side of the road at the corner of the courthouse.
