Peach County is the center of Georgia's peach-growing region, along with Crawford, Taylor, and Macon counties. 80% of all Georgia's peaches are grown in these counties. The peach harvesting season is from mid-May until mid-August.

The State Farmers Market in Macon is a good place to buy peaches and other local produce. It is convenient for Interstate travelers and is less than 3 miles east from I-475, exit 3.

East of Fort Valley, Lane Southern Orchards  (formerly known as Lane Packing Company) is a great showcase for Georgia's peach industry. Fresh produce, cobblers and ice cream make a visit to Lane's a pleasant stop.

Dickey Farms in Musella is a little more off the beaten path, but is nice because it has an old-timey atmosphere.
