Original location of Fincher's barbecue

This is the original Fincher's preferred by many barbecue purists. It is very easy to get to from I-75 once you know where it is located, but don't take the I-475 Macon bypass. This Fincher's a fifties-style drive-in with a small dining area as well.

Directions for southbound traffic from I-75 (Exit 160B): At the bottom of the exit ramp, turn left (east) at the stop sign and go about 0.6 mile. Turn left (north) at red light and go about 0.1 mile on Houston Avenue.

Directions for northbound traffic from I-75 (Exit 160): At the bottom of the exit ramp, turn left (north) at the stop sign and get in the right lane and go 0.2 miles. Then turn right (east) on Rocky Creek Road and go about 0.7 mile. Turn left at red light (north) and go about 0.1 mile on Houston Avenue.

Chopped pork in a tangy sauce and a spicy Brunswick stew are featured, but the menu at Fincher's has a good selection from which to choose. Others items include ribs, pork chops, chicken, cheeseburgers, fries, and potato salad. "The Pig" is most popular sandwich. "The Pig Special" is a barbecue sandwich with cole slaw and tomato on toasted bread. This combination works well with Fincher's zesty barbecue.

Fincher's barbecue is famous for being taken into space by astronaut Sonny Carter in 1989 on the space shuttle Discovery.

New location of Fincher's barbecue near I-475

This is a newer Fincher's in a nicer part of town. It is convenient from both the I-475 Macon bypass as well as I-75. It has a nice dining area - seat yourself and a waitress will serve you. A drive-in window is also available for to-go orders
