Dawson's Kitchen in Macon has good old fashioned Southern cooking. Fried
chicken is on the menu every day, but the other entrees vary from day to
day. Some of the entrees are beef tips over rice, baked chicken, BBQ ribs,
fried pork chops, and meatloaf. Vegetables may include fried okra, cabbage,
dressing, squash casserole, field peas, rutabagas or collards.
There is also a bakery where you can buy whole cakes and pies, lemon squares, cookies, etc.
Dawson's is primarily a take-out restaurant. There are a few tables in the front where you can eat inside if you want, but most people get their food to go.
Directions from I-75, exit 164 : From go west on U.S. Highway 41N Business (Vineville Ave.) for about 2.2 miles. Turn left at the traffic light onto Brookdale Ave. and Dawson's Kitchen will be on the left just after the turn.
