Trucks loaded with watermelons are a common sight in
the summertime at the Cordele Farmers Market.

The Cordele Farmers' Market is known for its watermelons and cantaloupes, but other local fruits and vegetables are sold as well. It is a major watermelon shipping point during the summer, and a steady stream of trucks bring loads of watermelons into the market during the peak season.

During the winter, only one small section of the market stays open. Loop around to the north side to get to this section. I did see a truck bringing a load of fresh Georgia collards to the market on one winter day.

Directions from I-75, exit 104:  go west about 2 miles. At the stop sign, turn left (south)  and go just over a mile. The farmer's market with be on the right (west) side of the road.
