Coleman Lake Restaurant

Coleman Lake Restaurant sits along side of the Ogeechee River, a blackwater river that is surrounded by Spanish moss and cypress trees. Try to get your seating in the dining area that has the view of the water. You may see alligators or fish such as gar swimming in the river while you are dining.

A buffet is featured on the weekend, but you must order from a menu on weekdays. While your food is being prepared, you serve yourself from the salad bar and two chowders, as well as regular or hot hushpuppies. Combo seafood plates are available on the menu. Choose either two, four or five items from a selection that includes such items as flounder, scallops, freshwater fish, frog legs, oysters, shrimp, etc. Two types of tarter sauce are provided, one regular and one hot.

If you are on a tight budget, there is one note of caution - Coleman Lake is expensive for this part of Georgia. Reservations are recommended for Friday and Saturday. This location is not one that you might casually discover while traveling, so directions are a must.

Directions:  from Midville, go south on GA 56 less than one mile and turn right (west) onto Wadley Coleman Lake Road. Then go two miles and turn right (north) onto Steven’s Crossing Road that goes to the restaurant.
