Spoilers: The Getaway
Sydney smiled at Vaughn as they shared another glass of wine. She couldn't believe that they were actually in Nice, enjoying
a dinner together. Her mind had come up with variations of their first date, but she had never expected this.
She sent shy glances in Vaughn's direction, unsure of what to say. This was all so new to her. She had never thought he
would ask her out to dinner. He had implied it in Rome, but she had brushed it off as talk. Now, they were both here and the
alcohol was loosening her up.
They had discussed the little things, gradually beginning to learn bits of information about one another. They had discussed
pets and family and holidays. She wanted to know more. "What did you do during college?"
Vaughn leaned back, a smile on his face. "I played pool. It was how I passed the time."
Sydney picked up her wine glass and swished the liquid around. "Playing pool. I can see it."
Vaughn leaned forward, a teasing look in his eyes. "You should play sometime."
She blushed, not sure if it was the wine in her system or the implied meaning of his words. The restaurant owner approached
their table, interrupting the conversation for the moment. "So, you liked everything?"
Sydney leaned forward, recalling the right words to describe the wonderful evening they had shared so far. "C'etait tres
Vaughn's eyes never left her face as he replied, "Parfait."
The owner watched the interaction between them and smiled at their subtle flirting. "So, it is, uh, too late for you two
to set out for L'Avignon and you had too much to drink. Upstairs, I have an inn and tonight, you are my guests. Please." He
placed a key on top of their bill adding, "Take your time. Merci."
Sydney stared at the key, not sure of what to say. She glanced up at Vaughn and noticed he seemed to be a little hesitant.
He leaned closer. "Did you ask him to do that?"
Sydney leaned back, closing her eyes and smiling. "There are so many issues with this, I don't know where to begin."
"Hold on a second. I think we should keep an open mind about this." He sent her a teasing grin and she blushed.
"An open mind." Thoughts raced through her head. Images of what she and Vaughn could possibly be doing in the room.
She watched as Vaughn paused in thought. "It would be rude to overlook such a generous offer without proper consideration."
She studied his face, trying to read his intentions. This could very well be the most memorable night of her life.
She pretended to consider the offer. "I wouldn't dream of it." This was one opportunity that she wasn't going to pass up.
Vaughn swallowed nervously. "Okay."
"But there are clearly issues." Issues that involved SD-6. She wanted nothing more than to grab Vaughn's hand and race
to the room in the inn. Damn the consequences, damn protocol. She was with Vaughn and that was all that mattered.
"Yes, I don't disagree."
Sydney laughed at the boyish grin on his face. He looked so shy and unsure of the situation at the moment. She grabbed
his hand, studying it in the candle light. She shivered as she imagined those hands on her body. "Okay."
He hesitantly stood, stepping closer to take her hand and help her out of her chair. The owner handed them their coats
and she held Vaughn's arm as they made their way through the restaurant and into the hallway that lead to the inn.
They were lead to a stairway and Vaughn placed his hand on the small of her back, guiding her. Once they had reached the
next floor, he studied the number on the key and led her to a room at the end of the hall.
She felt restless at the moment, not sure if this was some wonderful dream she never wanted to leave. She turned to Vaughn
and wrapped her arms around his neck. She just wanted to be held for a moment. He placed a kiss on her head, and she sighed
in contentment as his arms encircled her waist.
She knew why they were here, she didn't have any doubts as to what they would eventually be doing. Her hands began to play
with the hairs at the nape of his neck and he closed his eyes. His hands moved along her waist, teasing her with hints of
what was to come.
She looked up and studied his face, noticing that the worry lines of his forehead were not there. Her hands moved to trace
the shape of his face. She had wanted to learn everything about him at dinner, now was the perfect chance to know all of him.
She loved the way his green eyes sparkled with laughter at her curiousity. Her progress was hampered when she encountered
his shirt. She slowly began to unbutton it, revealing a gold necklace. She picked it up and wasn''t surprised to see a hockey
pendant dangling from the chain. She picked it up and kissed it, gently placing it against his chest.
She shot him an amused glance, and finished unbuttoning the shirt, taking the time to appreciate his chest. She ran her
hands along his muscles and felt his breathing quicken. He tried to hide the affect she had on him, but she was well aware
of what she was doing.
His hands were lightly running over the skin he was uncovering as she raised her arms to let him take her sweater off.
Her gaze never wavered as he took in the sight of her. Inside, she felt like a nervous wreck, but she refused to show it.
He gently cupped her face and leaned down to kiss her. She placed her hands around his neck and pulled him closer, deepening
the kiss. His hands played with the clasp of her bra, teasing the skin around it. He pulled back and looked into her eyes.
"Are you sure about this?"
Sydney smiled. "I've been sure all night." She pushed the shirt off his shoulders as he removed her bra. His lightly ran
his hands along her body as she hesitantly placed her hands along his waist.
He stepped closer, looking into her eyes. "I do love you Syd. I'll understand if you want to stop."
"I just can't believe this is real."
"Believe it Syd. We've got all night to get to know each other." He leaned down and kissed her, his hands slowly unbuttoning
her pants. He led her to the bed and removed them. His pants were soon gone as he joined her on the bed.
She held him close as he kissed his way down her body. Her stomach fluttered as he kissed lower and lower, making her blush.
He removed her panties, looking into her eyes the entire time.
He laid down next to her and just held her close, placing kisses along her face. She pulled back a bit and slowly removed
his boxers. She reached out to pick up the gold chain and smiled. "I like this. It's staying." She took the time to study
his body in the candlelit room.
He watched her as she ran her hands across his chest and stomach. His hand grabbed hers and he bought it to his mouth to
place a kiss on her palm. She leaned down and kissed him on the mouth. He pulled her onto him. They both lay there, feeling
each other skin to skin. Neither wanted that moment to end.
He placed a hand on her bare hip, slowly rubbing it. She continued to kiss him while he ran his hands through her hair.
he flipped them so that he was on top and blanced himself on his arms. He stopped, gazing into her face once more. She nodded
and he entered her.
She arched against him, wanting to feel all of him inside of her. He grabbed her hips and forced her to slow down. She
held Vaughn close as he thrust into her. Her nails dug into his shoulders and she urged him to go faster.
He complied, speeding up the pace of his thrusts and making her moan his name. She stilled, tightening her muscles around
him, making him shut his eyes and groan. "You're going to kill me."
She smiled up at him. "I haven't even started yet." His necklace rested against her chest and she shivered as the chain
tickled her. He kissed around her neck and she closed her eyes, enjoying the feel of his mouth on her skin.
His steady pace quickened and she arched against him, urging him on. She shuddered and cried out as she came. He continued
to thrust inside her towards his own release and she sighed in contentment as he collapsed on top of her. She held him close
and breathed in his scent. His hands traced her curves and she turned her face to meet his.
He placed gentle kisses along her collarbone as she closed her eyes. Her hands played with the hair at the nape of his
neck as she concentrated on breathing. He rolled over so that they were each on their sides, facing one another.
He kissed her nose and pulled her close. She sighed, enjoying the safe and secure feeling of his arms wrapped around her.
She closed her eyes and placed her head against his chest, concentrating on his heartbeat.
She could almost forget about SD-6 and the CIA. She could forget the reason that she was in Nice in the first place. All
that mattered at this moment was that Michael Vaughn was holding her in his arms and she felt safe. She was experiencng a
sense of normalicy for once in her crazy life. She drifted off to sleep, a happy smile on her face.
