High Speed Internet Research Committee

The internet is becoming a vital part of our lives. Westford residents currently have only two competitive options to connect to the internet:

  • dial-up phone connections with speeds between 24 kbps and 52 kbps (depending upon line quality and distance traveled)
  • or broadband satellite connections at an initial cost of $600 or more.

The goal of the Westford High Speed Internet Committee is to make competitive, suitable high speed (above 200 kbps ) internet connectivity available to all Westford residents and businesses, and position the community for future internet connection growth. We believe that high speed internet access is vital for each of us to participate in the 'connected' world.

To accomplish this, we need to determine the interest in our community for high speed internet access, assess current availability, interact with internet solution providers, and implement the best solution for our town.

Please fill out this survey by March 2nd to register your interest.
