About Me and Celiene
Angel Pups

Who Are We?  Celiene is a six year old, female Standard Poodle, and I am now a 12 year old girl called Natalie. We visit hospitals, nursing homes, children's centers and other places where people are not as forturnate as others.

When I was nine years old I chose to do this because I wanted to bring joy to people that aren't allowed to have pets because of their health, or other situations.

Since my family travels in an RV around the country, I had a fantastic idea; To visit a facility in every state and spread joy all around the U.S.  The pages that follow tell and show about my visits.

I hope this gives you the idea to find an opportunity to help others too.  It's something the world needs more of; volunteers to spread joy.

This is Celiene and I with Tammy our observer.  She was awesome and made our 3 visits great and worry-free!  Sonny was an excellent role-model for Celiene. He's not quite one year old in this picture.

The Achorage newspaper was even there doing a story about our visit. Unfortunately, we left Alaska before we ever saw the article.  It had rained for 11 days straight and mom was sick of the rain!

Heartwood Care Center

This place made us feel very welcome and very special. They even had our names on the activity board for the day, and clapped their hands when we would do our tricks.  Even though I was getting over a cold and didn't feel very good before we arrived, this was one place THEY made ME feel better!!

Petco "Race" Gathering
Sometimes we travel so much my mom has a hard time organizing a visit. This time we had to join in with another event going on at Petco, but Celiene didn't mind a bit.

This was really fun!  I was a little nervous in front of so many people, but not Celiene.  She made me forget about all the people staring at me, because they really just wanted to see her!

Youth & Fam. Svcs. After Care Pgm.
I visited with an older group of kids and younger ones. Later, my mom told me that the reason she talked so much was because some of the older ones were getting kinda smart-alecky.  So, mom told them about how I learned to do this all by myself and how I take time to care about others as a volunteer. I think they learned that even people like us who aren't rich or have a lot can still give to others.

This place was like a vacation hotel. The residents were busy doing all sorts of things when we got there. I'm glad they could fit Celiene and I into their busy schedules, because we had a wonderful visit and I think the residents liked it too.

with Thera Pups

We were so excited when mom finally found someone who made regular visits to a children's hospital. Cheryl and Chance (another black standard poodle!) let us join them and the other Thera Pups members on the visit to cheer up the kids.  It was so nice to see them all smiling. THANKS, Thera Pups, and Thank you Cheryl!

I was very surprised how big Springmoor was; we almost got lost in there.  But, I was even more surprised to meet Lofi Hirschman, a resisdent AND volunteer at Springmore.  She has been a Girl Scout for 70 years, and still spends her time helping others!

Arnold AFB Girl Scout Troop 125

After months of trying to set up a visit with Girl Scouts (three troops in other states all cancelled)....Finally!  We got to tell other Girls Scouts about Therapy Dogs and how volunteering can bring happiness to others.  Not only that, but volunteering can help a Girl Scout earn badges and awards.  Bonus!

This is Celiene and I, with my two brothers, visiting my Great Grandma, who is 92 in this picture.  This is the first time I've seen her since being a baby, and I can't wait to visit her in the fall again.  She was so happy to see my mom that she got teary, but, she really enjoyed that we brought Celiene. She misses her dog, Goldie.  The second day we came her smile was so big when she saw Celiene. I can't wait bring my dog to to visit her, and the other residents, again!
