THIRD GENERATION

 

7. John WILLOUGHBY (James2;Patrick1) was born[1] about June 1877 in Ohio. He was a 2-year-old boy in his father’s home[2] in Brooke County, West Virginia and by 1900[3] was back in Ohio in Uhrichsville head of his own household. A death date has not been found. He married[4] Grace A. STULL 29 September 1898 in Tuscarawas County, Ohio. Grace was born[5] about 1878 in Ohio and death date is not known.

 

John and Grace WILLOUGHBY had the following known children:

            i. Ethel A.  WILLOUGHBY was born[6] 24 July 1900 in Uhrichsville, Tuscarawas County, Ohio.

 

            ii. James G. WILLOUGHBY was born[7] 21 March 1905 in Uhrichsville, Tuscarawas County, Ohio.

 

8. Annie WILLOUGHBY (James2;Patrick1) was born 1 March 1880 in Short Creek, Brooke County, West Virginia. She died 1 Feb 1851 in Elyria, Loraine County, Ohio where she was also buried. She married Daniel Charles KOTHE on 8 Mar 1900 in Dennison, Tuscarawas County, Ohio. He was the son of John August KOTHE and Mary Magdaline WEYANDT. Daniel was born 14 Apr 1875 in Bowerstown, Harrison County, Ohio, and died 7 February 1956 in Elyria, Ohio.[8]

 

Annie and Daniel KOTHE had the following children:

            i. Freda KOTHE was born 27 Jan 1903 in Uhrichsville, Ohio and died 31 May 1992 in Lorain, Ohio. Freda married Raymond John BRUCK on 27 July 1925 in St. Mary’s Church, Elyria, Ohio.

 

            ii. Daniel William KOTHE was born 17 May 1905 in Lorain, Ohio. He married Gail BOWMAN on 21 September 1928 in Bucyrus, Crawford County, Ohio.

 

            iii. Agnes Lenore KOTHE was born 17 Apr 1911 in Elyria, Ohio, and died 21 Jun 1995 in St. Luke’s Hospital, Maumee, Lucas County, Ohio. Agnes was found in the 1930[9] census listed as a student nurse. She was working and living at Elyria Memorial Hospital. She married Paul David HOUGHTALING on 24 Nov 1933 in Methodist Church, Elyria, Ohio.

9. Michael WILLOUGHBY (Patrick2;Patrick1) was born[1] 11 Sep 1880 in Ireland and christened[2] 21 Sep 1880 in Kilrush Parish, County Clare, Ireland. He apparently moved to Cleveland and was found in the 1910[3] census not yet married. By 1920[4] he was listed as married and the head of his household. He dies before the next census leaving one child Leroy whose death record[5] may be listed in the California death index. He died[6] 3 Jul 1927 in Cleveland, Ohio. Michael married Maud (Surname unknown) about 1910 possibly in Cleveland, Ohio where he was enumerated.

 

OBIT[7]: “Willoughby-Michael, beloved husband of Maude and father of Leroy, 1711 E. 60th street, Sunday, age 42 years. Remains at the Hogan Co. parlors, 1345 Superior avenue, where services will be held Tuesday, July 5, at 2:30 p.m. 7/3/1927. Age 42. Harvard Grove Cemetery Cleveland, Ohio”

i. LeRoy WILLOUGHBY was born[8] 16 Apr 1910 in Ohio, probably Cleveland, Cuyahoga County. He was residing in Blythe, Riverside, California when he died[9] 27 November 1972. 

 

10. Elizabeth DONAHUE (Bridget2;Patrick1) was born[10] about December 1885 in Ohio, probably Tuscarawas County. She is found in the 1910[11] census with her husband but after having 4 children she is back with her mother in 1920[12] and listed as divorced. She was not found in the 1930 census but her son Terrence[13] was living with Margaret (DONAHUE) THOMPSON, his aunt. Elizabeth’s death[14] date is not known. She married Carl V.  WALTON about 1908 probably in Tuscarawas County.

 

Elizabeth and Carl had the following known children:

i. Dorothy WALTON was born[15] about 1910 in Ohio, probably Tuscarawas County.

 

ii. Shirley M.  WALTON was born[16] about 1912 in Ohio, probably Tuscarawas County.

 

iii. Terrence J.  WALTON was born[17] about 1914 in Ohio, probably Tuscarawas County.

 

iv. Kathryn O. I.  WALTON was born[18] about 1917 in Ohio, probably Tuscarawas County.

 

11. Thomas P.  DONAHUE (Bridget2;Patrick1) born[19] about February 1889 in Ohio, probably Tuscarawas County.  Thomas was also found in the later census[20] records with his family. In 1910 he is renting his home and working as a salesman for a department store. Ten years later, 1920, he is still renting his home working as a clerk in a railroad office. And by 1930 he has again changed jobs to a Gas Company but still a clerk. But by this time he owns his home, without a mortgage and valued at $1500. He also owns a radio. The information about his wife children is from these records. His death date is not known. He married Blanche E.  (Surname unknown) probably in Tuscarawas County, Ohio.

i.  Frances DONAHUE was born[21] about Jan 1920 in Ohio probably in Uhrichsville, Tuscarawas County.

 

ii. James DONAHUE was born[22] about 1921 in Ohio probably in Uhrichsville, Tuscarawas County.

 

iii. Thomas DONAHUE was born[23] about 1925 in Ohio probably in Uhrichsville, Tuscarawas County.

 

iv. Charles DONAHUE was born[24] about 1928 in Ohio probably in Uhrichsville, Tuscarawas County.

13. John James WILLOUGHBY (John2;Patrick1) was born[7] about Nov 1892 in Ohio, probably Tuscarawas County. He registered for the selective service[8] of WWI on 5th July 1917. John died[9] July 1956 in Lorain, Ohio. He married Ruth WILSON[10] in Lorain, Ohio

 

John and Ruth had the following children[11]:

i. Francis C.[12]  WILLOUGHBY was born 5 August 1917 in Ohio and died[13] 12 April 1990. He enlisted[14] in the army on 9 Jun 1945 for the duration of the war.

 

ii. William H.[15]  WILLOUGHBY was born 1 Oct 1919 in Ohio and died 29 June 1997 also in Ohio. He enlisted[16] in the army on 3 December 1942 for the duration of the war.

 

iii. John E.  “Jack[17]” WILLOUGHBY was born[18] about 1928 in Ohio.

 

iv. Dorothy WILLOUGHBY was born[19] about March 1930 in Ohio

 

                        v. Glenn WILLOUGHBY

 

vi. Donald WILLOUGHBY (Author’s note: I have an enlistment[20] entry for a Donald E. Willoughby born in Ohio on 4 February 1943 but this man’s birth year was 1923. Our Donald was not listed in the 1930 census[21] so was probably born after 1930. Is it possible that Donald lied about his age to enlist?)

 

14. Harry Michael WILLOUGHBY (John2;Patrick1) was born[22] 7 December 1897 in Uhrichsville, Tuscarawas, Ohio. He registered for the draft[23] for WWI on 12 Sep 1918. Harry died[24] 25 May 1958 in Uhrichsville and was buried 28 May 1958 in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Dennison, Ohio. He married[25] Myrtle INSLEY about 1921. Myrtle was the daughter of Frank INSLEY and Eva WILCOX. She was born 17 June 1904 and died January 1996 in Uhrichsville[26].

 

Harry and Myrtle have the following children[27]:

i. Doyle Charles WILLOUGHBY was born 14 Aug 1922 in Ohio[28] and was living in Tuscarawas County, Ohio when he died[29] on 12 September 1992. He enlisted[30] on 14 January 1943 in Akron, Ohio for the duration of the war.

 

ii. Richard WILLOUGHBY was born[31] 27 Jan 1935 in Dennison, Tuscarawas County, Ohio. He died[32] 7 April 2001 in Gnadenhutten, Tuscarawas County, Ohio. He enlisted[33] on 30 March 1943 in Fort Hayes, Columbus, Franklin County, Ohio for the duration of the war.

 

iii. William Robert WILLOUGHBY was born[34] 11 July 1928 in Uhrichsville, Tuscarawas County, Ohio and died[35] 23 June 2000 in Rockville, Parke County, Indiana.

 

iv. Patricia Lee WILLOUGHBY was born[36] 6 September 1930 in Uhrichsville, Tuscarawas County, Ohio.

 

v. Raymond Eugene WILLOUGHBY was born 15 Nov 1934 in Uhrichsville, Tuscarawas County, Ohio.

 

vi. Jerod Michael WILLOUGHBY was born[37] 2 Jan 1939.

 

15. Paul (John? [38]) WILLOUGHBY (John2;Patrick1) was born[39] 29 September 1910 in Uhrichsville, Tuscarawas County, Ohio and died[40] 12 Jan 1982 in Dover, Tuscarawas County, Ohio. He married[41] Della Marie FONDRIEST who was born[42] 6 September 109 in Dennison, Tuscarawas County, Ohio.
