On Sunday, 31 August, 1997, Gertherers from the New York City area went on a day trip to the New York State Renaissance Festival, which is held every year in Sterling Forest, Tuxedo, New York. Present on this trip were: Marla Kaye, Toni Spadafina, Lisa ("LB") Burstiner, Yolanda Rivera, and Brenda Bell. Accompanying us were Yolanda's friends Joe and CJ, and Brenda's significant other, Frank.

The joust master was supposed to be a neutral party... but the scores he awarded had *nothing* to do with the relative horsemanship of the four combattants...
All that jousting made us thirsty... and hungry... so it was off to the food court.

Toni's hidey-hole...
We stayed after the Living Chess game, and ran to get good seats for the raptor exhibition. Most raptors are endangered species, killed by the effects of environmental pollution. LB was so hep on the raptors that Frank and Brenda suggested she look into the Raptor Trust in New Jersey.
