Rurutu Island, French Polynesia

The town of Avera, on the island of Rurutu. This island is located S.E. of Tahiti

This was my base of operation on Rurutu Island. A thatched hut! In this photo is the antenna I used to talk to other ham radio operators around the world.

This is the beach about 100 feet from where I stayed on Rurutu. The beach is made up of very course coral - NOT sand!

Bananas grow wild on the island - several species.

Transportation to the island via a 2 prop plane that can hold aprox. 60 passengers.

Me just outside of the "capital" of Rurutu. I walked about 10 miles a day.
