Warning Message:A red flag warning remains in effect from 10 am MST /10 am PDT/
this morning to 5 PM MST /5 PM PDT/ this afternoon.
Strong north and northwest winds will develop over the lower Colorado
River valley and southwest Arizona this morning. In addition...very dry air
will move into the warning area leading to red flag conditions. Winds
of 20 to 25 mph with gusts of 35 to 40 mph can be expected along with
humiditites below 15 percent. Winds will begin to decrease during the
late afternoon...weakening significantly during the evening.

Warning Description: Fire Weather Warning
Warning Date: 8:38 am MST on May 13, 2008
WarningSum:...Red Flag Warning In Effect Until 7 Pm Mst This Evening...
Warning Message:The National Weather Service in Tucson has issued a red flag
warning...which is in effect until 7 PM MST this evening.
A strong low pressure system over northwest Arizona will drop
south and east through the state today. Winds will remain quite
strong and gusty ahead of this system. While this storm will
gradually bring increased low level moisture to the area...it will be
slowest moving into Santa Cruz and Cochise counties. As a
result...these areas are expected to have red flag conditions this
afternoon with winds of 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 40 mph and
relative humidity values at or below 15 percent. As a result...a
red flag warning has been issued for southern and eastern fire
weather zone 148 including Cochise and Santa Cruz counties.
A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now...or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds...low relative humidity...and warm temperatures will
create explosive fire growth potential.
Please advise the appropriate officials or fire crews in the
field of the red flag warning today for portions of Southeast
Arizona.
