JOANNE SHENANDOAH is a native American singer of national reknown. She opened for Woodstock 94. She has sung with Willie Nelson, Neal Young, Buffy St. Marie among others, and performed for such distinguished audiences as the first lady Hillary Clinton, and Russian leader Mikhal Gorbechov.

In MATRIARCH she shares with us songs which honor the earth- songs traditionally sung by the women of the "Haudenosaunee" or Iroquois nation. These songs express their endless thanksgiving for the bounties of Mother Earth, who they believe to be the true Matriarch and sustainer of us all.
