
 Yammar Thiam- official royal drummer of Senegal - sings in the Senegalize native language "woluff". He could not conceive of singing a lullaby without a baby to lull to sleep, so he tenderly cradled his drum and began to sing. |
Kai Soderman is famous in his homeland consisdered the "Frank Sinatra of Sweden". He raised his children in America where he often sang them a haunting lullaby about the tender birch tree asleep in the ground during the long winter.

 The lullaby from Israel sung by Keri Ben-zvi is also a prayer "oh Lord, I pray these things never end: The sand and the sea, the rush of the water, the crash of the heavens, the prayer of the heart". |
In the lullaby from Vietnam, sung by Duong Kim Loi, a mother promises to help her child over the creaking, swaying unstable bamboo bridges of Vietnam. And thus help him on his path. |
 In the Nepalese lullaby, a poor mother pleads with her baby to go to sleep so she can leave her child with her in-laws and go to work in the fields.

 In the sad little lullaby from Bolivia sung by Marcella Illanes, the refrain cries "sawdust to the children of San Juan, they ask for bread but they get none, they ask for cheese but get only bones". |
