One of the most interesting aspects is the use of specialized dice rather than relying on regularly numbered six sided dice. Simply either a die side was blank or has a stamped explosion pictorial.
Each of the different dice types (by probability) are made distinct by the use of different die color.
| Actions Concept |
In this board game they introduce a concept of "Actions" which went all completed add up to one "Turn." It's a bit different since Actions can be done in any order unlike the prevalent structured actions commonly found in a "Turn" (First Move, then Assault, then Shoot, etc).
Each "Action" can be spent to commit a Shooting Attack, or Close Combat Attack, or Movement. Each Doomtrooper gets Two actions every turn but there are ways to get more. So it's entirely possible to spend them all on Shooting Attacks at a group of Dark Legion models or put it all into Movement in an effort to reach an objection of a Mission. Sometimes it is very beneficial to pop around a corner with a Movement Action, Do a Ranged Attack, then retreat with another Move Action (the third action being done with use of cards or Extra Actions they get to spend..
