From the Unforgiving Sea to the Spirits of the Air...
Upon completion of his tour aboard the USS Gillette, Walt enlisted in the US Air Force; from which he would eventually retire. He fulfilled his lifelong love of aircraft. Shown here are pictures of Walt during his time with the Gillette and far from the decks of the '681 and the turbulent seas.
