Memorial services are pending. Burial of the cremains will take place in Iowa at a later date. Shawn Gordon was born May 25, 1969, in Winterset to Larry and Bonnie (Emerson) Gordon. She grew up in Colorado, graduating from Bear Creek High School in Lakewood. She received her master's degree in biology with special emphasis in genetics, from the University of Colorado in Denver. Shawn was a member of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences. She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Dean Emerson and William Gordon. She is survived by her mother and stepfather, Bonnie Gordon and Dr. Bob of Lakewood, Colo.; her father and stepmother, Larry and Mary Gordon of Winterset; a brother, Nicholas Gordon of Winterset; a sister, Jamie Gordon of Winterset; and her grandmothers, Marjorie Lathrum and Betty Gordon, both of Winterset.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family to be used in establishing the Shawn M. Gordon Memorial Fund. (A later note in Madisonian-dated Sept. 4, 2003-states that Shawn would be buried at the Peru Cemetery on Sept. 12, 2003)

A lifetime resident of the Colorado Springs area, she was a graduate of Cheyenne Mountain High School and the University of Colorado, where she received her degree in psychology. Julia had been working with developmentally challenge children at Roundup Fellowship in Colorado Springs. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather and paternal grandparents. She is survived by her mother, Ann of Colorado Springs; her father Jack, of Colorado Springs; a brother, John Armit of Denver; her maternal grandmother, Marge Emerson Lathrum of Winterset; and an aunt and an uncle."

A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 2 at the Peru United Methodist Church with Pastor Dennis Shepherd officiating. There will be no visitation. Bill See was born Dec. 27, 1916 in Madison County to Homer and Elsie (Landis) See. He was a graduate of Peru High School. On July 27, 1938, he married Doris Emerson in St. Charles. A lifetime resident of Madison County and retired dairy farmer, Bill was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Winterset (50 years) and Peru United Methodist Church. He also was a former Madison County Fair Board member. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant brother; and two sisters, Bessie Beeler and Freida Burns. He is survived by his wife, Doris, of Peru; a son, Jim See of Peru; two daughters, Joanne Howell of Scottsdale, Ariz. and Sharon Young of Waukee; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Funeral arrangements were handled by Collins Oak Park Chapel in Winterset.\
