NEWSPAPER: The Winterset Madisonian, Winterset, Iowa, 1962: "FORMER RESIDENT DIES IN CALIFORNIA, Mrs. Grace Christensen, a former Madison county resident died at a hospital in Huntington Beach, California last Thursday after an extended illness. Mrs. Christensen, was born in Madison county September 24, 1902 the daughter of Alice and Mark Robinson. She was married in this county to Ivan Smith who preceded her in death. They lived in Madison and Clark counties. She later married Walter Christensen who survives her. She is also survived ty two daughters, a son, five grandchildren, her mother, Mrs. Alice Robinson of Winterset, four sisters, Mrs. Irvin Simmons and Mrs. Paul Jamison of Winterset, Mrs. Eva Giddings of Bellflower, California, Kathrine Hiatt of Eugene, Oregon and a brother Everett Robinson of Avon Park, Florida. Services and burial were held in California Saturday."

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at the First Christian Church with the Rev. Lisa Klein officiating. Visitation is today (Weds.) from noon until 9 p.m. at the Zion Church at the Madison County Historical Complex with a remembrance service to be held at 7 p.m. Burial will be at Winterset Cemetery. Mr. Jamison was born January 9, 1927 in Winterset to Paul and Edith (Robinson) Jamison. He married Callie Harrell, September 5, 1948 at Zion Church. He was employed with Wight and Short Service Center and also was a farmer. He was a lifetime resident of Winterset and was a member of Zion Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and one son. Surviving relatives include his wife, Callie of Winterset; a son, James Jamison and wife Dianna of Winterset; two daughters, Cynthia Lee and husband Steven of Des Moines, and Barbara Jacobs and husband Gayle of Winterset; two brothers, Rolland Jamison and wife Carolyn of Sun City, Ariz., and Mack Jamison and wife JoAnn of Winterset; two sisters, Eva Short and husband Willard of Winterset and Shirley Jamison of Winterset; and seven grandchildren. Memorials may be directed to the Madison County Historical Society."

Hope of Winterset, a lifetime resident of Madison County, died at his home near Winterset last Sunday, July 28, 1974. He was 37 years of age. Larry Eugene Hope was born in Madison County on April 3, 1937, the son of Ralph and Gwendolyn Delong Hope. He married Myrna Little on June 2, 1956 at Winterset. Mr. Hope was employed by the H. M. Cooper Company for ten years, and had been employed by Madison County for the past six years. He was affiliated with the Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Myrna, and two children: Rhonda Sue and Rod Eugene; and his mother, Gwendolyn Hope, all of Winterset. He was preceded in death by his father; a brother, Lawrence C. Hope; and a sister, Sharon Kay Hope. Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 31 at the First United Methodist Church in Winterset, with the Rev. Paul Bousfield officiaating. Burial was in the Winterset Cemetery."
