Winifred Heist, 81, Geneseo, died Sunday, March 17, 2002, at Trinity Medical Center, West Campus, Rock Island. Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Lutheran Church, Geneseo. The Rev. Thomas Heyd will officiate. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Aledo Cemetery. Visitation will be 10 a.m. to service time at the church. Memorials may be made to the church. Vandemore Funeral Home, Atkinson, is handling arrangements. Winifred was born Sept. 1, 1920, in New Boston, the daughter of Fred and Lona Beverlin Reed. She married Harris Kolsrud July 12, 1946, in Moline. He died in 1975. She then married Bob Heist May 26, 1984. He died in 1998. She had been employed at the Wards Drug Store in Geneseo as a clerk for several years. She later worked as a teller and bookkeeper at Farmers National Bank in Geneseo, retiring in 1984.
She was a member of First Lutheran Church, Geneseo, and its WELCA group and Rebecca group. Survivors include sons and spouses, Reed and Cheri Kolsrud, Camanche, Iowa, and Roger and Kathy Kolsrud, Red Wing, Minn.; daughters and spouse, Delores and Kenny Vozzella, Foxboro, Mass., and Darlene Diaz, Minneapolis, Minn.; five grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

D. Darrell Davison, 68, Aledo, died Saturday, Oct. 7, 2000, at St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria. Services are 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Fippinger Funeral Home, Aledo, with the Rev. Robert Smoldt officiating. Burial is in Aledo Cemetery, where military services will be conducted by American Legion Fallerans Post 121, Aledo, and Mercer County VFW Post 1571. Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to American Legion Fallerans Post 121, Aledo. He was born Aug. 4, 1932, in Aledo, the son of David and Freda Beverlin Davison. He graduated from New Boston High School. He entered the U.S. Army in 1952 and served in the Korean War. He married Zelma Gipson Jan. 24, 1957, in Seaton. He was employed at Alexander Lumber Co. in Joy for eight years and then was employed at the U.S. Postal Service in Aledo, retiring in 1993. He was a member of American Legion Fallerans Post 121, Mercer County VFW Post 1571 and the National Association of Letter Carriers Branch 3770. He enjoyed woodworking, bingo and metal detecting.
Survivors include a daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter, Denise, Kurt and Allison Eye, Aurora, Colo.; a sister, Juanita Edgcomb, Utica, Ill.; nieces, Ruth Dahl and Brenda Fessenden, both of Aledo; a nephew, David Edgcomb, Utica; and a special friend, Doris Goodman, Aledo.
