Silliman, a native of the Peru community, died July 9, at Grand Junction, Colo., according to word received here this week. His death followed a stroke on July 4. He was 72 years of age. Mr. Silliman was born at Peru June 12, 1879, a son of Charlie and Mary Silliman. He was married here June 6, 1901, to Myra Mae Robinson. In 1907, they moved to Collbran, Colo., where he lived until returning to Iowa in 1933 to engage in the farm implement business at Leon. In 1941, he moved back to Colorado to a ranch near Appleton. He is survived by a son, Dick Silliman of Appleton; and three daughters, Mrs. Allen Bloss of Collbran, Mrs. W. C. Raymond of Loma, Colo., and Mrs. George Knowles of Grand Junction, Colo. He also leaves three sisters, Mrs. A. E. Emerson and Mrs. S. S. Clifton of Winterset, and Mrs. Ree Schoenenberger of Humboldt, Minn.; and three brothers, Lonnie Silliman of Centerville, A. E. Silliman of Park River, N. Dak., and W. J. Silliman of Paris, Ark.

OBIT: Vincent Schuchard, 36, of Winterset died of cancer Dec. 13, 2002, at Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset. A private family service was held Monday, Dec. 16, at Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare in Winterset. Burial was at Winterset Cemetery. Vincent Schuchard was born Aug. 31, 1966, in Red Oak to Melvin James and Barbara Ann (Dotson) Schuchard. He was a 1985 graduate of Winterset High School. On June 3, 2002, he married Stacie Beverlin. Vincent was an account supervisor for a commercial cleaning business. He had served in the Air National Guard for six years. He is survived by his wife, Stacie, of Winterset; a daughter, Christine Schuchard of Des Moines; a stepson, Colton White of Winterset; a stepdaughter, Cazlynn White of Winterset; his parents, Robert and Barbara Lenninger of Winterset and Melvin and Linda Schuchard of Milbank, S.D.; and two brothers, Danny Schuchard of Des Moines and Mike Schuchard of Colorado Springs, Colo. Memorial contributions may be directed toward a fund established, in Vincent's name, for his daughter, Christine.
