Mr. Beverlin died Sept. 10, 1982 at Madison county Memorial hospital in Winterset. He was 73 years of age. A son of Omer P. and Kate Clark Beverlin, he was born at Peru on July 9, 1909. He attended Peru and Truro schools, and on Oct. 20, 1933, he was married to Wilma Wilkinson at Grant City, Mo. Mr. Beverlin spent his adult life as a farmer and welder. He was a member of the Peru Methodist church, and Ivy Masonic lodge at Truro. He is survived by his wife, Wilma; one daughter, Mrs. Barbara Graves of Fayetteville, Georgia; a son, Rick Beverlin of Peru; five grandchildren; one great grandson; three brothers, Corwin of Winterset, Carroll of Peru, and Jim of Sigourney, Iowa; and three sisters, Lorene Wilson of Polsen, Montana, Reva Thomas of Van Nuys, Calif., and Bernie Freeman of Truro. Preceding him in death were his parents, a sister Lois, and a brother, Dale. Officiating at the funeral Monday was the Rev. Janne Clinton. Burial was in the Peru cemetey."

They moved to California in 1939, residing there until 1984 when they moved to Littleton. She was preceded in death by her husband; three brothers, Corwin, Dale and Bob Beverlin; and three sisters, Lorene Wilson, Lois Henneman and Bernice Freeman. She is survived by one son, Bill Thomas of Littleton, Colo.; one daughter, Judy Ward of Littleton, Colo.; two brothers, Carroll Beverlin of Peru and Jim Beverlin of Michigan; and two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Funeral arrangements were handled by Drinkwine Mortuary in Littleton, Colo.

Beverlin, Thu, Dec 7, 2006, MEARS, Mich. — Ernest Clark "Jim" Beverlin, 88, of Mears, Mich., formerly of Newton, died Sunday, Dec. 3, 2006, at Oceana County Medical Care Facility in Hart, Mich., A funeral service will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Kale Funeral Home in Truro. Burial will be at St. Charles Cemetery in St. Charles. Visitation will be from noon to 7 p.m. Friday. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Memorials will be accepted to Disabled American Veterans Memorial Program. The son of Omer P. Beverlin and Penelope Kate (Clark) Beverlin, he was born Jan. 31, 1918, in Peru. He graduated from Peru High School. On May 17, 1941, he married Elaine Joan Husted at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. Mr. Beverlin served in the U.S. Navy on the USS California during World War II. He was a pipe layer for the Natural Gas Pipeline Company and retired in 1983 after 40 years of service. He and his wife lived in Truro, Knoxville, Sigourney and Newton before moving to Michigan two and a half years ago. He was a member of First Christian Church in Newton. He played baseball as a young man, enjoyed bowling and golfing and was very proud of his two holes in one. He was a volunteer for Retired Senior Volunteers in Newton and enjoyed spending time hunting, fishing, trapping and gardening. He is survived by his wife; two daughters and sons-in-law, Rebecca Joan and Tom Rickhoff of Mears, Mich., and Marsha Ann and Ben Vampatella of Inverness, Fla.; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother, Carroll Beverlin of Winterset; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Eugene Clark Beverlin; three brothers, Corwin, Dale and Bob; and sisters, Lorraine, Lois, Reva and Bernice."
