Waterproofing of horizontal, above-grade surfaces protects the substrate from water and salt intrusion causing corrosion. Walker Contracting Group expertly applies both cold and hot applied systems.

Fluid Applied Waterproof Membrane is applied to balcony decks to protect the concrete slab. The system includes a primer, base coat and topcoat, and caulk details. The lower decks in the photo have received the gray base coat and the upper balconies have been coated with beige topcoat.

The hot applied system requires a "kettle" to melt the "bricks" of rubber. This system is excellent to use under pavers on plaza decks.

After the first coat is applied, reinforcing fabric is placed in the still tacky membrane. This is followed by a final coat of membrane.
