Lake residents. Charter Schools are public schools of choice that
are independently owned and operated. Charter schools:
* Are nonboundaried and nonsectarian.
* Function independently of the school district.
* Are exempt from some state and local regulations applicable
to traditional public schools.
* Are held accountable for the academic and financial performance
of their students.
* Participate in all state mandated testing.
* Must meet all applicable state and local health, safety
and civil rights requirements.
