BPW/USA Dues Increase 10-01-07

National dues are currently $55.00 and will raise to $60.00 on October 1, 2007. National student dues are currently $16.00, and will increase $1.00 in 2007. Each local treasurer should notify national if they have a change in LO dues. Individual members who have been billed from National for their July or August dues probably will not reflect the change on their first billing. A second billing may reflect the $10 increase.

Individual Development Program

Have you ever said....

1. I don’t understand people, what motivates them, what drives them, or where they are coming from? From employees, to friends, to family members.

2. I don’t understand why "people" didn’t do it the way I wanted it done!

3. I am not comfortable getting up and speaking in public, either large groups or small?

4. I’m not good at networking, I don’t know how?

5. I don’t really need to network, I don’t sell anything. What about selling yourself, promoting BPW, your fundraising items etc.

6. I Have not been out on an interview recently? Even if you are self employed, your customers are interviewing you.

7. Negotiating is only for Labor & Corporations I don’t need it. But we negotiate with customers, with family, and employers everyday. Keep the Door open!

8. I would you like be a leader, but wonder how you get others to follow? What makes a great leader?

9. I don’t know Robert and I don’t understand his rules. Parliamentary process streamlines a meeting so you can get to it done efficiently.

10. Business etiquette is for big corporate employees. "We just use common sense and good manners." Etiquette varies with different cultures and we need to understand those differences.

11. We need to change that law, or we need a new law. Are you comfortable contacting someone in Olympia? Do you know who to ask, or how to address the problem?

12. How do other people get noticed in the paper or TV. I want to do that!

If you said YES to any of these....  you would benefit from IDP These are the 14 modules from the new BPW USA IDP.

Talk to your members, ask them these questions.  Everyone can benefit from IDP.

Janyne Moynihan, IDP Facilitator & BPW Washington State IDP Representative 2005
