The G Bar M Ranch is a small family ranch in southeastern Tennessee, owned and operated by Patrick and Valerie Gann.  Originally from Arizona, we have competed on quarter horses and paints for over thirty-five years - and we have the saddles, buckles and trophys from team roping and team penning to prove it; Patrick is a USTRC # 5 header and heeler; Val has also trained, competed, and won in hunter/jumper and english equitation.  We try to keep our prices affordable so that people like us - horse owners who work a full-time job to pay for their hobby - can purchase a well bred animal at a reasonable price

All of our horses receive extensive training before leaving our ranch - we take pride in the fact that a horse purchased from us is well-mannered and easy to handle, whether it is a weanling, trained saddle horse, or broodmare - all will tie, lead, groom, clip, halter, stand quietly for the farrier and be respectful of humans.  Our horses sell UTD on shots (EWT and West Nile on all equines over 6 mos), wormings (every four weeks) and shoes or trimmings (every six weeks).  Our foals also sell already registered with the AQHA or APHA!

All of our AQHA mares and stallions are also NFQHA registered and our stallions are all HERDA tested N/N! Since we are originally from the west where a quarter horse was expected to be versatile (cut, pen, rope, head, heel, etc..), this is what we stand and raise - foundation based, ranch bred horses with a lot of cow, quiet dispositions, and athletic conformations!

Our bloodlines include Wimpy, Joe Reed II, Jessie James, Hancock, Bill Cody, Leo,  Bert, Harlan, Rey, Oklahoma Star, Two Eyed Jack, Sonny Dee Bar, Leo San, Peppy San Badger, Blondys Dude, Blackburn, Pacific Bailey, Joe Reed II, Peter Mccue, Jackie Bee, Croton Oil, etc....plus our favorite bloodlines: Doc Bar, Poco Bueno and King....... We do strive for color, but we have won money on sorrels and bays, as well as buckskins and palominos - what they all had in common were good minds, athletic conformations, and proven cow/performance pedigrees.  If you watch any of the PRCA rodeos, you will notice that almost three-quarters of the horses that are ridden and/or become the cutting, roping, or barrel  "AQHA Horse of the Year" are sorrels, bays, or chestnuts - since these guys and gals keep winning money, buckles and saddles, it must mean that they agree with us - color is nice but not the most important aspect of a good horse !!!!

The riding level of all our saddle trained horses will be honestly posted.  That way you can decide if the horse is right for you.  If you are unsure, ask us.  Since we train and ride all of our saddle trained horses offered for sale, we know how they will respond to every rider's level of experience; and we would rather lose a sale then sell a horse to someone that will not fit them.

We have satisfied and repeat customers from as far away as Arizona,  Conneticut, Maryland, Minnesota, New Mexico, Texas, and Vermont, and as close as Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Mississippi,  North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Tennessee ..........Riding is supposed to be fun, wether you enjoy competition or just enjoy the trails, and that can only happen if you and your horse are right for each other.

We take reasonable deposits and payments on all foals, and have our contract posted on the foal pages..  Please contact us for more information and/or pictures on any animal you see for sale - we will gladly provide it.  You can email us at vpgann@earthlink.net or call us at 423-364-4495.
