After playing in countless top-40 groups and copy
bands, Von decided in the early eighties to try to
embark on an original music career, writing, or
collaborating, with groups and other songwriters.
The first group to release an album was Uranus,
a group Von was with from 1981 - 1984. At this
time, Von left Universal to spend more time with
the group and become the production manager/
director of a small independent video/record
company, Jam Power Records. Uranus signed
a record contract with this company.

Von produced and directed their first
and only video, "Lonely Streetfighter",
a song which he also wrote the music
for. It was on the merit of this video
that they were able to negotiate a record
release deal in Europe, through a record
company called ZYX Metal. The album
was called "Maiden Voyage". The scene
to the right was shot on a set that was
also used for a scene in "Escape from
New York". Soon after the release of
this album, the band split and everyone
went their separate ways.
