GENEALOGY THANKS
by Vi Parsons
I am thankful for
… the month
and year of birth for every person on the 1900 U. S. Population Census, even though some of the entries may be off by one
year.
… for the free State of Missouri
website with the digitized marriage and death records to print from home day
or night
… for the number of years married and years of the current
marriage columns on the 1910 U. S. Population Census, for clues to locate the marriage records
… for the 1920 U. S. Population Census Citizenship columns
with the citizenship status and the year of entry to America
… for the World War I Draft Cards with date and place
of birth and signature of the applicant
…. for the 1925 Iowa State Census records, with maiden names
of the parents
… for adult men who welcomed their mother in law into
their home, which provided a surname or maiden name of another generation
… for the Find A Grave website, to “walk through
cemeteries” even in inclement weather, without leaving home
… for that one important Last Will & Testament
which named the children
… for the Rootweb website of towns and counties, to eliminate lifting the heavy Everton’s Handybook
Tenth Edition
... and that my Dragoo Cemetery book is published!
