HOW DO YOU SPELL THAT?

The Statue of Liberty and my ancestors both originated in France. The people of France gave the Statue to the people of the United States over one hundred years ago in recognition of the friendship established during the American Revolution. The Dragaud Family of France gave me a special gift - my ancestry.

My ancestors in France spelled their family name D-R-A-G-A-U-D. My mother spelled her family name
D-R-A-G-O-O.........so, I use that spelling. Others use the variations of D-R-A-G-G-O or D-R-A-G-G-O-O. No matter how we spell it or how we pronounce it, we meet together in even numbered years for a Dragoo Family Reunion. This year the reunion will be in Colorado Springs, Colorado September 7-10.

OTHER ANCESTRY NAMES

Beyond DRAGOO, here are some other family ancestry names.

BRIGHT, CARR, EWING, HILL, HILDEBRAND, MATHENY, STRAIGHT, WRIGHT

Our 17th century Dragaud family in France would never have imagined such a variety of names in their family lines three centuries later when Duncan, Moore, Rice, Tripp, and Wilson became a part of the Carr-Dragoo lineage in the 20th century in America.
