Butt Rockin' Tonight

An album by The Tweeds

Here's the extra notes that I couldn't get in the insert. ___________________________

All arrangements by Ray Curry

Produced by Ray Curry

All piano & organ parts played by Skip Nallia (who has played with Albert Collins, Kirk Wallum and a bunch of other folks in the "big time" music scene.)

COME ON IN MY KITCHEN:

Written by: Robert Johnson

Intro to the album - a short solo guitar piece by Ray

NO VIOLENCE:

Written by: Curt Commander

Curt - lead vocals; (Hank usually sings the high part on stage, but was ill the day of the recording so I sang both of the backing vocals);

Ray Curry on lead guitar.

MESSIN' WITH THE KID:

Written by: Junior Wells

Curt - lead vocals;

Jim Embry 1st lead;

Ray Curry - 2nd lead.

THAT BLUE DRESS:

Written by: Ray Curry

Ray on all guitars & vocals (Jim was in Japan & not available at this recording session).

TEXAS GUITAR TRAMPS:

Written by: Ray Curry

I originally wrote this tune as a tribute to all the excellent guitar players that I've worked with over the years. I asked a couple of long time friends & players to come in to record, but only one made it for the session: Adam Smith. He's an Eric Johnson styled player that just absolutely blows me away!! He plays the 3rd lead on this instrumental tune.

SHOULDN'T DO THAT:

Written by: Curt Commander

Curt plays harmonica on this tune;

Hank Willis starts off the vocals, then Curt, followed by Ray Curry -- a fun song.

Jim Embry plays the lead.

DON'T LOVE YOU ANYMORE:

Written by: Ray Curry & Hank Willis

(I wrote all the music and words, but I felt obligated to include Hank on the credits because it was his story about his ex-girlfriend that "banged on his door all night long" because of a lovers' spat that was the inspiration for the lyrics.)

Ray Curry on lead vocals;

Jim Embry on lead guitar.

I'M SO TIRED:

Written by: Ray (I wrote this one while my wife & I were still living in Dallas in 1990.) I thought it had that old style 50's kind of sound that was perfect for Hank to sing;

Jim Embry - 2nd guitar;

Ray Curry on lead guitar;

Tommy Dardar on Harmonica.

FEATHER BED:

Written by: Curt Commander

(A Louisiana kind of sound, so I definitely had to have Tommy Dardar play on this one as well)

Curt on lead vocals;

Hank Willis on backing vocals;

Ray on slide guitar.

CROSSROADS:

Written by: Robert Johnson (a little different than the old Cream version don't ya' think? ----- I do a rather expanded version of this tune live with a slide guitar intro, but we trimmed it down for the studio)

Ray Curry on slide guitar & vocals.

ROLL OF THE DICE:

Written by: Ray Curry

(I wrote this tune in the car on the way to the recording studio. I knew we needed another little tune to include on the album ---- since we have 3 lead singers, which is kind of unusual for a blues band around here, I decided to write a "blues/church choir" tune.)

7 COME 11:

Written by: Ray Curry

(A very short little diddy ----- The recording of this tune would really flip out the recording & audio perfectionists. I used Curt's old cheap pawn shop acoustic guitar & it had old "green" strings on it)

Just Ray on vocals & the old cheap guitar. (Actually, I was very impressed with the sound on this one myself) Then I just kind of combined Roll of The Dice & 7 Come 11 together, because it seemed to fit.

Anyway ----- now you probably have more info than you wanted to know about the album.
