1 John 2:16 For everything in the world--the cravings
of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and
does--comes not from the Father but from the world.
James 4:16 As it is, you boast and brag. All such
boasting is evil.
James 1:9 The brother in humble circumstances ought
to take pride in his high position.
James 1:10 But the one who is rich should take
pride in his low position, because he will pass away like a wild flower.
Luke 1:51 He has performed mighty deeds with his
arm; he has scattered those who are proud in their inmost thoughts.

thrones but has lifted up the humble.
James 4:6 But he gives us more grace. That is why
Scripture says: "God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble."

Rom 11:18 do not boast over those branches. If
you do, consider this: You do not support the root, but the root supports
Rom 11:19 You will say then, "Branches were broken
off so that I could be grafted in."

of unbelief, and you stand by faith. Do not be arrogant, but be afraid.
