IF YOU NEED A NEW ABS/TRACS CONTROL UNIT (COMPUTER, MODULE, CONTROLLER), YOU MAY HAVE YOURS REPAIRED. I DO NOT SELL NEW OR REFURBISHED UNITS, they are too difficult to find, everybody is looking for one. Make sure your vehicle has been properly diagnosed before blaming the ABS module as the reason for your ABS light being on. I have performed repairs on ABS control units for:
I have not repaired other units yet, if you have similar problems on another Volvo models, please contact me.

Is the ABS TRACS light on intermittently? The reason could be a defective ABS module. Upon inspection and troubleshooting, about 90% of the Volvos that have intermittent ABS light will result in the replacement of the ABS unit. These are some symptoms of a defective ABS unit: 1996 - 1998 850, C70, S70, V70 and V70XC (Includes all the variations)
1999 -2001 S80, S80 T6, C70, S70, V70 and V70XC (Includes all the variations, excluding DSTC)
The Volvo ABS module (Computer) at a dealer sells for about $450.00 plus tax. This is in addition to the diagnosis and labor to remove and replace. In 1999 and newer Volvos the units cost as much as $750.00. Sometimes the computer will have no trouble codes stored in the memory. Troubleshooting only leads to the replacement of the ABS module (computer). The repairs usually involve replacing damaged components or damage circuit boards.

This is how the deal works. If you need to have your own unit tested and or repaired. You need to have it removed by a professional and sent to me. The unit is removed fairly easy, In a scale of 1 to 10, it is about a 6, it is easier than changing the brake pads on your Volvo. You will need a very special tool, it is a Torx wrench (socket) E5 (Fairly difficult to find) and a 1/4" ratchet driver. If you don't have one, go to the removal instructions page and you will find a link to purchase the tool. I will test your module before I inspect it. This involves testing it on a vehicle similar to yours. If the unit is defective and in condition to be rebuilt, I will attempt to perform repairs. I say attempt because I have found some units that cannot be repaired, this happens mostly on units that somebody else has opened. This involves opening the unit for the actual repairs. Upon completion of repairs, your unit will be tested again, then sealed and sent back to you. The unit carries a 5 (five) - year warranty. repair rebuilding rebuilt used for sale OEM troubleshooting instructions instruction help
