Monday, April 25, 2011 Mr. Rocha, I wanted to thank-you and your team for an outstanding job done ! I consider myself a cautious person and was very hesitant to use your repair services which I found on the internet. I took a chance with you and cannot be happier with the outcome. I must add that part of the reason I took the risk was you answered my email inquire about your repair services within a 24 hour period – very good ! I felt obligated to write this note and tell you that I was very pleased with both the service AND communication. As you know, I was very concerned with the timing of the repair because I needed the unit repaired and returned within 5 days. I received the part in 4 days (including all shipping) which was better than I expected !! To add to this it was a holiday weekend coming (Good Friday and Easter weekend). I had the car back up and running, as I needed, for Easter weekend. (Total time was shipping the part on Monday (I shipped overnight) and getting it back on Thursday – car running by Thursday evening). I installed the module without issue, and reset all warning lights. I have driven the car for 3 days and have not had any issues. All issues have seemed to be fixed (lights, transmissions shifting, speedometer and odometer going blank). State inspection the car is very different everything is working and it seams like it is learning man do I have power sometimes it is like a rocket, when it is cold and wet. Wow. I’m just thinking of the service manager face when he told me it is $1,340.00 just for the part I’m going to smile from ear to ear. repairing my ABS unit but also for providing foolproof
instructions for removing and reinstalling the unit. The
pictures you included outlining the procedure were excellent.
Everything went flawlessly. It was a piece of cake. I also
appreciate your tip on having Autozone loan me the scanner
to turn off the check engine light. This saved me another
$98.00, two hours driving time to and from the Volvo dealer and
at least another hour sitting there waiting for my car.

San Diego Volvo wanted $ 985 for a new unit + labor. You've made it possible for me to do it for under $150 plus 30 min of my time. This must be some sort of record. much! The ABS computer and our car is now working perfectly.
The engine light is now off and was related to the same ABS
problem. All codes except the engine one went off when it was
installed after your repair. Our mechanic read the code for the
engine light and it said CHECK SPEED SENSOR. He re-set the code

everything seems to be working great. I had difficulty getting
at the lower two torx screws with a ratchet, adapter, and
socket, but I guess the swearing and cut hands saved me about

remember how long. Then a few days ago my wife says that the
speedometer stopped working. After some quick searches on the
variety of Volvo message boards, I find out that the ABS CU and
the speedometer failures can be conneted. Well, $450+ for an OEM
replacement didn't sound good to my wallet, that's why I waited
so long, but then I find out that there is a guy, Victor Rocha
that repairs the ABS units for $130. I sent him an E-mail, and
as I came to find out, he lives a few blocks from my wifes work.
Well I met him at his house today, gave him my old unit and
$130, he handed me a repaired unit, drove over to my wifes work
and in less than 20 minutes after I had it in my hot little
hands, the speedmeter was working and the ABS light was finally
off after it seemingly being on forever. Thanks you so much

I'd add another data point to this thread. Victor repaired my
ABS module and so far, so good. (Only driven it about 200 miles
so far - I'll try to post again in a month or two...) He was
very prompt and kept in touch via email through the process.
And, as has been mentioned, the car is driveable with the module
removed. Pkfinn, "I too had the intermittant ABS light on our 97 850GLT. I resoldered the points on the controller where the wiring harnesses connect. It seemed to fix it, but it wasn't a very long lived repair. The problem came back several months later. I decided to send it to Victor Rocha for repair. He was very responsive to my questions before I sent it to him, and then performed the repair and sent it back to me very quickly. I would highly recommend using him if you're having ABS problems and you're pretty sure the controller is the problem. He guarantees his repair for 3 months. Prior to your rebuild, every time the engine compartment got warm, the electronics died and the warning lights came on. You saved me a bunch of money, and I am very grateful. mail, I put it in the special zip-lock bag the ABS unit came
in (thought you would be able to reuse it). I installed the
unit last night, again thanks to your supplied directions.
Car ran flawlessly, no warning lights, should be good now

The dashboard Warning lights are all off, and with the Winter month's coming, my wife's got her much needed ABS back. Now, we're looking forward to another 106,000 miles of care-free ABS. Wednesday, August 17, 2005 Hi Victor! What beautiful turn-around service you provide. Sent you the module on a Wednesday, got it back Monday afternoon. You can't beat that! Had some company and installed it yesterday. It sure goes back in a lot easier than it comes out. Only screw I made was disconnecting the MAF sensor because it was in the way, forgetting it, starting the engine and throwing a code that turned on the check engine light. Well, I always did intend to buy an OBD-2 code reader to erase the codes. Haven't taken the car out for an extended drive, but it does look like everything is working. Again, my heartfelt thanks. module for my 98 Volvo V70 last summer.
Still working like a dream, no problems
whatsoever. Belated thank you if we have
not told you before. Do you work on any
other Volvo problems or have
information? We have an opportunity to
buy a 95 Volvo 850 Sedan for our son for
below 1000.00. Problem is they think the
piston may have a hole. We're going to
get a mechanic to check it out, but
wondered if you have any knowledge

I ended up having the dealer take it out and reinstall it for me, but at $40 for that, versus the $800 they wanted to charge me to replace it, I am more than happy. Thank you for a great service. The ABS control unit works fine and it is nice to have my car working more like it used to, especially at the savings and benefit of hopefully not having the same defect happening again. I have passed your info along to my mechanic as they have had numerous customers with the same problem and all (except for me) have bitten the bullet and purchased a new, potentially defective unit at a substantially higher price. Victor, I received the ABS controller a couple of days
ago and installed it on Wed. It works perfect!! I have put
it through as many paces as anyone could possibly think of
and it works flawlessly. The ABS light went out on start up
and has not been seen since. I actually have fun jumping on
the brakes and letting the ABS work!! Thanks for the repair

The installation was easier than the removal, perhaps because I knew where to put my hands.
