Girl power!
One (or more accurately, two) reasons that the "Honeymoon Special"
is available: it's just not a good fit for my current tandem partners and
lifestyle.

Day 2 as a big-rig tandem team: We rode about 1½ miles for breakfast.
Leaving the restaurant, we rode past the picture window and waved at our waitress. About 30 arms waved back!
It never hurts to have more than one neon windbreaker in your closet--handy to lend out to visiting cyclists. |
| We encountered this fellow at GOBA's first overnight stop in Tiffin.
(Who's more colorful?)
All our pedals have been outfitted with PowerGrip feet belts, which work great with all kinds of kid shoes. Even flip-flops. |
||
| Astute observers will see that we each have a computer,
and a bell. Very important for kid stokers--keep them distracted and entertained.
Our tailwind caboose, on the T-A-B, has a rear view mirror, and there's
a blinkie light on her seat bag. Other useful accessories include: --on the T-A-B, a longer seatpost and a seatpost-mounted rear rack --handlebar water cage mounts --fancy triangulated kickstand (which we do NOT use as a kid support!) --state nametags (this bike lives in Michigan) --colorful stick-on Reflexite shapes on frames, colorful "jelly bean" reflectors in wheels (visit the bike-toy department of your local *.Mart for ideas) |
||
| This was at a rest stop at the 2000 Midwest Tandem Rally, held near Chicago.
It was about 90° this day-- we needed all the ice cream! We rode 32
miles (our longest yet) and achieved a top speed of 35 mph (down a short
steep hill). Later we had a water fight, and emptied every bottle.
