Site Honors

An unexpected honor arrived in September 2008, that being that I was named as an Exemplary Hall Honoree, "where owners of active and retired web award programs rated 3.0 to 5.0 by Award Sites! are honored for their contributions/efforts beyond their program."  The list of honorees is short and distinguished, and I am flattered to be included.  David, thank you again. Exemplary Hall Honoree from AwardSites!
NovaSite! from AwardSites! In June of 2008, The Internet Beacon was named as a NovaSite!  by AwardSites!  NovaSites! is an honor given to "a site shining brightly with excellence and more for all to see."  My humble thanks to "the brothers Grinn"  (that's not a typo).
The Internet Beacon Awards have been recognized by Award Sites! for being a rated awards program for five years.  I appreciate it, David. Notable Service -- rated 5-plus years by Award Sites!
Fun Tyme Entertainment Gold Award This one was a complete surprise.  The Internet Beacon received the Gold Award from Fun Tyme Entertainment for creativeness and dedication.  Sandra, thank you so much.
I was very pleased to have the Internet Beacon Awards receive the Award Master Award, from the Seal of Patriotism Award Program (now closed), for awards programs "that have achieved excellence in all areas of content, design, graphics, quality and presentation."  Many thanks, Judy. Seal of Patriotism's Award Master Award
Talking Hands Award--Gold Edition I was amazed to receive the Talking Hands Award (Only twice-nominated sites are considered.)  This Special Edition Gold Award is given only to winning sites that are Bobby-approved and accessible.  Thank you, Denny.
This rarely-given Friendship Award was presented to me by Kim Jin Seok, webmaster of the Korea Award Program, for some small assistance that I was able to provide.  Thank you, Jin Seok.  Friendship Award from Korea Award Program
Ralph Waldo Emerson Plaque from NetMagick   Kindness Plaque from NetMagick I was honored to receive both the Ralph Waldo Emerson Plaque and the Kindness Plaque from NetMagick, formerly one of the World's Top Award programs, now retired.  Thank you, Ellen.
AwardsVille's Award Master had only one main qualification -- an award program needed to be able to qualify for its own top award.  I am proud that the Internet Beacon Awards is one of only two award programs ever to be designated as an Award Master.  My thanks to the staff at AwardsVille!  You are missed. Award Master from Awardsville!
Surreal Awards -- Learning Design Certified "The Learning Design Program strives to help webmasters polish their web fundamentals in order to create an award-winning site...This certificate honors your efficiency in creating a solid web design!"  This Award Sites! 5.0-rated award program is now retired.  The Internet Beacon is the only site ever to have earned this certification.  Thanks, Tom.
I was surprised to receive this Caring Site Award from The Animal Spirit, "a volunteer-based, not-for-profit web site promoting compassion for all animals through education."  Many thanks. Caring Site Award
Internet Blackout Day Committment Award "This award is issued to this site by the Advisory Board of the POW/MIA Freedom Fighters Organization, for its early and steadfast commitment to our missing warriors."  The Internet Beacon proudly participated in this initiative for three years.  (It's been discontinued.)
The POW/MIA pages of the Internet Beacon received the Colonel Gary G. Wright 2002 Award for Excellence from POW/MIA (now closed), honoring this brave American who is still missing.  I am honored. Colonel Gary G. Wright 2002 Award for Excellence
J.G. American Spirit Award, presented to this website in memory of September 11, 2001. The Internet Beacon's pages concerning 9/11/01 were presented with the J.G. American Spirit Award, courtesy of the web site September 11, 2001 (now closed).  Thank you, John.

I rarely seek out awards -- that's not why this site exists.  But my efforts to improve this site and improve the Internet community have resulted in a few honors for The Internet Beacon, which I humbly and proudly display.  I thank the webmasters involved for their kind comments and their beautiful awards.  Each of these awards are very special to me.
