Cookies
Yield: 112 cookies
| 2 cups butter |
4 cups flour |
| 2 teaspoons baking soda |
2 cups sugar |
| 5 cups rolled oats |
24 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips |
| 2 cups brown sugar |
1 teaspoon salt |
| 1 8-ounce Hershey (sweet chocolate) bar, grated |
4 eggs |
| 2 teaspoons baking powder |
3 cups chopped nuts |
| 2 teaspoons vanilla |

Measure rolled oats, then run in a blender until ground to a fine
powder. Set aside.
Cream butter and both sugars together. Add eggs and vanilla; mix
together with flour, powdered oats, salt, baking powder, and baking soda.
Add chocolate chips, grated Hershey bar, and nuts. Mix well.
Roll into balls and place 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake at 375 degrees for about 10 minutes.

even, she distributed the recipe on the Internet. It's a good story,
except that it's not true! But despite its dubious origin, the recipe makes
excellent cookies!
