Association
for Positive Ethical eXchange (APEX) has a
mission to "increase the credibility and
professionalism of website awards by working
with this segment of the Internet Community to set
ethical standards, encourage professional
practices, and promote solidarity among award
sponsors." It has some award programs as
members, but its mission reaches out to all
Internet web sites.
The
Webmaster's Guide to Glory is, as far as I
know, the only published book on the subject of
web awards. The author is Míc Miller, who
operated a high-profile web awards program from 1998
