The Awards

The Internet Beacon offers the following awards:

Internet Beacon Gold Award

World's Top Award

The Gold Award is awarded to sites which achieve a score of 90 points or better.  Winners receive a link to their site.  (Award is 143 x 93 pixels, 8.6 KB)
The Silver Award is awarded to sites which achieve a score of at least 80 points, but less than 90 points.  Winners receive a link to their site.  (Award is 143 x 93 pixels, 8.5 KB) Internet Beacon Silver Award
Internet Beacon Bronze Award The Bronze Award is awarded to sites which achieve a score of at least 70 points, but less than 80 points.  Winners receive a link to their site.  (Award is 143 x 93 pixels, 8.9 KB)
The Merit Award is awarded to sites which do not achieve a score of at least 70 points or fall short of our standards in some area(s) but are, in my judgment, worthy of recognition due to the valuable resources and positive information which they provide.  Winners receive a link to their site.  (Award is 143 x 93 pixels, 6.2 KB) Internet Beacon Merit Award
Internet Beacon Diamond Award The Diamond Award is awarded to one Gold Award winner from the previous year which, in my judgment, best demonstrates the spirit and purpose of the Internet Beacon Awards.  Winners receive a screenshot, a link to their site, and a limited-edition print of "The Beacon Light," the painting by artist Jan Smith McLaughlin which serves as the logo of the Internet Beacon.  (Award is 143 x 93 pixels, 9.0 KB)

The Keeper Of The Light Award is the highest honor presented by the Internet Beacon Awards.  It is presented to individuals, not to web sites.  The recipients are those rare people we meet on occasion -- people who strive every day to make the Internet a better place, and to unselfishly help everyone that they encounter.  Typically, they ask for little or nothing in return.  These remarkable people make the world a much better place, not because they believe it will make them rich, but because they believe it's the right thing to do.  Every day, they display the spirit of the Internet Beacon, showing that one person can make a difference.  If you see this award on a web site, look around -- you are in the presence of someone very special.  (Award is 143 x 93 pixels, 12.3 KB)  You cannot apply for this award.
