Finally here; Busch and Muller 12 volt 6 watt dynamo sets. We have complete S12 sets which include the Dymotec S12 dynamo, Lumotec Oval Plus headlight, Dtoplight Plus tail light, complete with spare bulb and rollers and wiring. These are expensive, but if you need the best and brightest generator lights available this is the one. $441.00 for the complete set.

How they compare the S12 vs the S6.
Cost: S12 set  $441.00   S6 Set $253.50
Light Output: The S12 produces 6 watts while the S6 produces 3 watts. 3 watts is adequate for making you visible to cars and other traffic. On well lit urban streets or moon lite clear nights 3 watts is adequate. On some dark roads especially with rough or uneven surfaces the 3 watt output requires slowing down. The 12 volt illumination is significantly better and provides adequate illumination for all road conditions and speeds.
Drag:  Both the S6 and S12 are highly efficient dynamos and produce very little drag when engaged. The S12 does have a slightly increased drag, but it is barely noticable and not significant.
Weight, size and installation: No difference in weight, size or installation.
Upgrading to the S12: Not possible, the standlight feature built into the headlight and tail light is designed for either 12 volts or 6 volts. A 6 volt light can only be used with a 6 volt dynamo.

Is it worth it?. If you ride on well lit streets and mostly needs lights for visibility for cars and other traffic the 6 volts lights should be adequate. If you ride a lot at night and want the best and the brighest, do not want to slow down on dark roads, ride a lot on unfamilar roads, get the 12 volt lights.

Busch and Muller Lumotec Plus and Lumotec Oval Plus Headlights

The "PLUS" versions of the Lumotec and Lumotec Oval headlights feature  unique automatic
standlight technology so the headlight will remain lite after stopping.  An electronic regulator stores
a small amount of power supplied by the dynamo in a built in condensor. After a 3 minute ride at about
20km/hour, the condensor is fully charged. At low speeds and when stationary, the condensor  powers
an additionally installed LED.  The LED will remain lite for around 4 minutes after stopping. These headlights
still use the standard halogen bulb, the standlight system powers the additional LED.
