this contract will be applied to the breeding fee . Mare owner is responsible for a $10/per day fee, wet, or $8/per
day fee, dry, for mare and/or foal care. This fee starts the date the mare is delivered and ends the day the mare is picked-up.
The remainder of the breeding fee and full cost of the mare and/or foal care is due upon pick-up of the mare.
Responsibilities of the Stallion Owner:
The Ganns are responsible for the reasonable care of the mare and/or her foal, and
a reasonable effort will be made to ensure her/their safety and well being while at the ranch. However, the Ganns, and their
stallion, are not responsible for the injury and/or death of the mare or foal due to natural causes or forces of nature. If
the mare/foal appears to need immediate veterinarian care, the Ganns may use their judgment to get the expert care she/the
foal needs. The Ganns will only exercise this option if the mare owner can not be contacted and/or the situation appears to
be an emergency. The Ganns will not be held responsible for any expenses generated from this care - all expenses are the responsibility
of the mare/foal owner.
Responsibilities of the Mare Owner:
The mare owner will provide a current negative Coggins test and a list or shot record
of all vaccinations. We do recommend West Nile for this area. The owner will disclose any known health issues associated with
the mare or her current year’s foal. If mare is known to have difficulty becoming pregnant, carrying a pregnancy to
term, irregular heat cycles, or foaling, the Ganns must be told.
In order to protect the safety of the mare, the stallion and the Ganns, the mare
owner must disclose any unusual or undesirable personality traits of the mare/foal - this includes biting, kicking, striking,
etc. All mares must be broke to halter, lead and stand tied.
The mare owner will deliver the mare and/or foal to the Ganns in good health, proper
weight, free of woms, and vaccinated. The mare should also have had any farrier work done prior to delivery to the Ganns and
all horseshoes removed! The mare owner will provide any special care needs (i.e. supplements, medications, etc) of the mare
and her foal to the Ganns prior to the Ganns accepting the mare into their care.
Mare owner is responsible for the removing of the mare and her foal from the Ganns
in a timely manner after the Ganns have completed the breeding service. Ultra sounds and/or vet checks are at the expense
of the mare owner and will only be provided if the mare owner contracts and pays for these services in advance.
The mare owner will provide a maximum dollar amount for vet services in the event
of emergencies - total costs not to exceed $______________ (initial by owner and date____________).
Special Conditions:
LFG (Live Foal Guarantee) - the Ganns guarantee a live genetically normal
foal to be born to above mare. The foal should stand and nurse on its own. If a foal is produced and it does not meet the
above conditions, the Ganns are responsible for a re-breeding after it has been proven that a normal foal was not produced.
The mare owner will be entitled to a re-breeding if the Ganns are notified within two weeks that the mare has aborted the
foal or the foal was born dead with major genetic deformations (hernias and contracted tendons are not considered genetic
abnormalities and do not apply). This notification must include a statement of the situation from a licensed veterinarian
and the foal’s registration application (breeding certificate) must be returned to the Ganns. Mare owner will only be
responsible for the mare care costs associated with this re-breeding. Undisclosed genetic or previous foaling problems with
the above mare will negate the LFG - as will poor care, nutrition and maintenance deficits on the part of the mare owner in
regards to this mare which may have caused or contributed of the foal’s premature birth or death's
