WARNING! Cabin subject to rapid and sudden pressure changes. Enter only when lights are green.

This is where all of the Lexington's vehicle's are launched, recovered and stored. There was room for 5 shuttles when Lexington first launched. The shuttle bay could also, in times of war carry up to ten fighter craft. These smaller, faster, lighter and heavily armed craft are smaller than standard shuttles and can carry one or two officers much like the fighter planes of the late 19th Century. These craft are capable of both space, and atmospheric flight just like their larger cousins.
I'm still working on the Shuttlebay, so come back soon as there will be changes coming. First I have to find a decent font color that can be read over the Back Ground, or find another BG picture.

Here by the shuttlebay doors I'll be adding some links that you might want to travel to? Places like the Maryland State Renaissance, the Shore-Leave, and Farpoint conventions in Baltimore and things of that nature.

Later around the 2280's when Lexington underwent her first refit we got the newer sleeker, faster shuttles, like the one behind this text. Although slightly smaller and much sleeker than the previous models, our capacity was not greatly increased. We can now store 6 standard shuttlecraft, and 12 fighters. Crew capacity is 8 in the shuttle, and 1 or 2 in a fighter. Both models are armed, and although the fighters are faster, they do not have the same range as the shuttles. Shuttles are essentially long range, while the fighters are limited in their range.
