The Bourne Supremacy

The Bourne Supremacy stars Matt Damon as Jason Bourne, Franka Potente as Marie, Brian Cox as Ward Abbott, Julia Stiles as Nicky, Karl Urban as Kirill, Gabriel Mann as Danny Zorn, Joan Allen as Pamela Landy, Marton Csokas as Jarda, Tom Gallop as Tom Cronin, John Bedford Lloyd as Teddy, Ethan Sandler as Kurt, Michelle Monaghan as Kim, Karel Roden as Gretkov, Tomas Arana as Martin Marshall, Oksana Akinshina as Irena Neski, Jevgenij Sitochin as Mr. Neski, and Marina Weis-Burgaslieva as Mrs. Neski.

We find Jason Bourne living in India with his girlfriend, when he notices a man that seems out of place. His spy senses take over and he starts to grab a few belongings and leaves. A chase ensues resulting in the death of his girlfriend. Jason Bourne comes out of hiding and appears on the radar screen once more. Now he is going after the people responsible for her death. He is also being hunted by the CIA. He should get an honorary Double O rating as he has some great gadgets. Not as many as 007, but more sophisticated.

The Bourne Supremacy is a film that has plots we have seen before. It is a typical Spy comes in out of the cold plot, with the standard betrayal subplot. It's a little Day of the Jackal and 3 Days of the Condor all rolled into one.

The Bourne Supremacy is filmed in Extreme Close-Up Vision, Flicker Vision, and Fuzzy Vision! If you are prone to motion sickness, stay away from this film! I found it annoying. I am certain it was meant to heighten the excitement of the film. Some of it worked, but too much of a good thing..... The acting is good and I am a Matt Damon fan. I like his work. The film has a definite European flavor, it was filmed there. But, I do miss the big American muscle car chases. B Mer's and Mercedes can't hold a candle to Fords, Chevy's or Dodge's!

I give it 3 out of 5 Extreme Close-ups:
