Lost in Translation stars Scarlett Johansson as Charlotte, Bill Murray as Bob Harris, Catherine Lambert as Jazz Singer, Giovanni Ribisi as John, Anna Faris as Kelly, and a lot of Japanese that we will never remeber if seen again.
Lost in Translation is a film written and directed by Sofia Coppola, daughter of Francis Ford Coppola. All of us get to make bad home movies, Francis Ford Coppola's daughter gets to make bad art movies. I am a Bill Murray fan. This film has some funny quips, but not enough to sustain two hours of sheer boredom.
Lost in Translation is a story of two people in Japan, who can't sleep. Why? They are bored, and so is the audience watching them be bored. The title and advertising give the impression that this is a fish out of water story, not so. Why this film was made in Japan, is still a mystery. I assume it was to keep us from falling asleep because the story and main characters are so boring. The Japanese city and countryside spark our interest in this film. Otherwise we would be thrown from the theater for snoring too loud.
Lost in Translation is so bad that I smell Oscar!
I give it 1 out of 5 No Doz:
