Chicago is a film of a musical stage play. Why would anyone do this? Film was invented to replace stage plays. Now that you know how I feel about plays on film, on with the show! Chicago is All That Jazz meets Cabaret with a little Jailhouse Rock thrown in. It is filmed in extreme close up flicker vision. I did give it credit for giving us the title faster than any recent film.
If you like film, there is nothing for you in this one. If you like plays, there is nothing for you in this film, either. Why? Because they used no dance talent actors in choreographed sequences.
So who should see this film? Men, who want to suck up to their wives, to show there sensitive side. Just don't snore and she will thank you for a wonderful evening.
I give it 1 out of 5 nooses:
