The Mummy is too frightening for small children and too stupid for adults. The Mummy has very good special effects and a decent plot. The movie, however, doesn't hit the mark as an action/adventure/horror picture. There are some startling scares in the film and some attempt at humor, but The Mummy never settles into a rhythm.
The Mummy is supposed to be a Raiders... type of film. Instead it is George of the ..... There are too many disjointed scenes and too many inconsistencies in The Mummy. The actors do a good job on what little intelligent dialog they were given. The Mummy can't make up it's mind as to what kind of movie it is. Is it a horror/comedy, or a comedy/horror, or an action/horror, or a spoof on horror films? They just missed the target.
During this film I felt like I was on a DisneyLand ride, not in a movie. The action was always room to room or down corridors. Disney should think about opening a new ride.
