MICHAEL ALVAREZ, CLASS OF '03 AT AIR FORCE ACADEMY
Michael Alvarez, Standley Class of 2003, was selected by congressional appointment to attend the Air Force Academy in Colorado
Springs, Colorado. Cadet Airman Alvarez will spend two years in preparation for flight school where he will be trained in
the latest generation of fighter technology.
Michael was
the principal percussionist with the Standley Middle School Advanced Band, and also Drum Captain of the Marching Band. Moving
to Texas in his Freshman year, Mr. Alvarez ascended to Drum Captain of his high school's marching band, which attained the
rank of 3rd in statewide competition. Michael further distinguished himself as a straight-A student and as a champion athlete
in wrestling.
